concert at carnegie hall

Harold Rosenbaum•Conductor

Summer in France

Dear friends,

Singers and non-singers alike,

Come join me on my 30th European choir tour! I have led tours to France 7 times, but have not yet explored the Brittany region. Lying in the northwest corner of France, it is one of the great historic provinces of France. The most Atlantic of France's regions, Brittany is proud of its Celtic heritage, that sets it apart from the rest of France. But wait, there’s more: We will also explore Burgundy. Famed the world over for its wines, Burgundy is one of the great historic regions of France; indeed, in the Middle ages, it was the great dukedom which rivaled in power and prestige with the kingdom of France itself. In those days, it covered a large part of central eastern France, including half of modern-day Switzerland.

We conclude our tour with two nights in a place you might have heard about: PARIS!! Not only will we experience the history and culture of these fabulous locations, with the assistance of professional local guides, but we will perform three concerts under my baton. The repertoire: the Faure Requiem, plus spirituals. There are solo opportunities as well. I am working with Encore Tours, a very well established large tour company which brought us to Vienna a few years ago, to make this a wonderful experience for all.

After signing up, I will ask you to secure and learn the music as best you can on your own. We will then shape it all up with rehearsals in Manhattan and lower Westchester in May and June. Please look carefully at the attachments to learn all about the tour.

All the best,
